Are you looking for a way to liven up a pathway, water feature, or another area of your yard? Gravel is a versatile material that can not only go with almost any outdoor space, but it’s reasonably priced as well. It comes in a variety of sizes, textures, and colors, making pairing a breeze. Here are a few of our favorites you’ll want to try out for yourself.

Granite Cobblestone: For a classic look, use granite cobblestone edging on crushed limestone paths. Extend this look to other areas like the driveway over outside doorways.

Wood & Fieldstone: Naturally, gravel has a lighter appearance rather than materials such as concrete. That “light” appearance blends wonderfully with warm-colored gravel edged with fieldstone.

Steel: Used a darker colored crushed gravel and line it with steel leads. The steel is almost invisible, causing the gravel to be the focal point. For a romantic cotton garden, use this gravel combination with plants such as foxglove, sage, and geranium.

Flagstone: Another classic look is to pair warm-toned gravel with irregular flagstone. Combine this low-water colorful plants for a Mediterranean look.

Corrugated Metal: Combine either steel or aluminum with dark gravel for a modern, edgy look. This will be perfect for raised plant beds. The gravel helps cut back on weeds and keeps paths from getting muddy.
